Thankful

Drinking cool basement air while the hard earth cracks under the summer sun.

Rain barrels and thirsty plants.

Children that laugh loud, scheme always, and love deeply.

The devotion of a tender spouse choosing to give me infinite love.

Caffeinated beverages.

Needing an extra blanket to keep warm on the hottest night of the year.

A Lord that donned skin to meet me where I am.

A Savior that sacrificed everything.

Freedom to live, believe and choose.

Recipient of life and faith.

Chosen by God.

Thankful.

So thankful.

“Be thankful for the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” Robert Brandt
