When the heirloom doesn’t match

Jessica inherited this chair  from her grandmother. She wanted to make good use of this heirloom despite it’s dated style. After a quick inventory of supplies on hand Jessica only needed to purchase some fabric, the leather strapping around the bottom and a few upholstery tacks to update the outdated chair.

She removed the old fabric and used that as a pattern. She painted the wooden legs with leftover paint from another project and used a section of leftover high density foam to spruce up the seat cushion.

She pieced the chair back together with tacks, staples and hot glue. Not bad for a first attempt at upholstery!

She added a fun fur pillow in pink and Grandma’s chair now graces great-granddaughter’s bedroom.

Special Offer: Jessica notified me of a link for a free sample of Benjamin Moore paint. Perfect for painting the legs of a chair you need to recover…
