Headboards that turn heads

We are in the market for a new head-board for our bedroom. True to my project-driven nature I’ve been scoping out DIY options. Check out a few of my favourites.

Made from kitchen cabinet doors – yup, you read that right – kitchen cabinet doors. Click here for the step by step instructions.

Another cool idea only requiring some rope and glue. Step by step instructions available.

And last but not least, a link to 34 DIY ideas including the one below (which happens to be my favourite).

Somehow I doubt my über modern husband will like any of my choices. Sigh. Back to searching.

Kevin just added this one to the mix:

Gotta say – I really like it! Here’s where he found it along with five other DIY headboards.

Very cool ideas. Just tell Kevin that he’ll have his eyes closed most of the time he’s in there, so he doesn’t have to look at it 🙂

I like the kitchen cabinet door one. The rope headboard makes me cringe, thinking of little children’s sticky hands, snotty hands, etc. and how it would never be clean. The third picture I dare not show Mish, as she likes all things ‘Paris’. Thanks for the ideas, we need 2 headboards!

Your are amazing Stacey…………Remember back when you came a looked at our parson chairs well they are still the same nothing has been done to them. I liked your idea of lifting the skirts on each of the chairs to show the legs. They need to be changed. I guess I need a little more time to convince Neill………………….cdg The headboards are great ideas.

I haven’t made one yet Carol, just looking 🙂 It will be some time before we start this project. We have to buy a new mattress set first. I hate it when the boring purchases come before the fun ones!
