The Game Changer

The majority of faiths suggest good living, fair trade, and honesty. But Christianity is more than moral living. God set into a motion a game changer when Jesus rose from the dead. The resurrection of Christ changes everything.

Up until then Jesus’ followers depended on the actual presence of Christ to give them strength, wisdom, and boldness. When Jesus died, so did their courage. The disciples fled, afraid. Everything they believed shattered with the strike of a hammer.

Did they utter desperate prayers? Did they deny God? Were they angry? Fearful? Regretful?

I’ve been there. Where the comfortable is stripped. The assumed is no longer.

Desperate.

Shattered.

Angry.

The apostles did not know the future. They didn’t understand Jesus’ prophetic words regarding rebuilding the temple in three days. They entered their new normal not knowing how or if God would act. They waited in fear.

What am I waiting for?

Healing?

Victory over addiction?

Loved ones to respond to God?

Returned prodigals?

Forgiveness? Grace? Answers?

I do not know how long my wait will be. But, one thing I know for certain, I do not wait in vain.

The apostles waited and God worked. He defeated death. Jesus paid for our sin. His sacrifice and resurrection secured the victory.

While I wait, God is working. I don’t know how or when it will be revealed, but I know He works.

I do not wait in vain.

Death is defeated. Nailed to the cross. Victory rises in an extraordinary game changer.

The resurrection changes everything. I wait with confidence in my Lord.
