Extended table: from garbage to beautiful.

We found an old table in our basement when we moved into our house. Despite missing one end, it showed some potential –  so I kept it.

We had a friend use the good end to recreate the missing piece and we used it unfinished for a long time before I had the energy to tackle it.

I painted the legs white and the top black using up leftover trim paint and floor paint.

Next I took some leftover Golden Pecan Wood stain with Sealant and used a stiff brush to dry brush the stain overtop. It gave the black some depth and sheen and the pale legs a nice antique look.

With the leafs folded down the table serves as a couch console providing a great place to set beverages during a movie. Folded out, the table seats six and the family can eat pizza and watch T.V. on family movie night.

One person’s garbage, another person’s treasure.
