The Romans Project

The Romans Project - Bible Memory Group

The Romans Project. This is what I am doing, challenged by Ann VosKamp, a humble and gentle woman I was fortunate enough to meet at a writer conference years ago. Her genuine spirit touched me deeply. She is not a woman looking for fame, she simply seeks to know God and make Him known.

That resonates with me. I want to know God. I want to declare His grace, majesty, and mercy through my life -not just my words. I never want to be satisfied. Never. I want to constantly yearn for more than I dare to believe possible, and dare to do what I fear may be impossible.

Enter, The Romans Project.

This year, take the challenge with me, with Ann, with THOUSANDS of others and memorize Romans chapter 1, 8 and 12.

Yes, memorize.

I am scared silly to make this post public and possibly fail. Will I memorize all three chapters? Honestly, I don’t know, but I’m going to try. And whatever words God hides in my heart will be mine forever. I pray they will change me, shape me, and challenge me the way only Living Words can.

Ann writes:

“In making to-do lists to run our lives, why not make time to let God’s Word revolutionize our lives? Because making time to memorize His Word is putting the first things first.

If we fail to keep His Word in mind, we may simply fail.

In the age of Google, who still memorizes God? Are we losing a way of life… and losing our way?”
