Framing Memories

My husband completed his first 5K race over the weekend. Doesn’t he look great (on the right, in the blue)! My nephew Matthew is running beside him in the white T-shirt.

We want to display his race number and his medal in our sports memorabilia family room.

Inspired by this post we came up with a way to accomplish our task without spending any money (the best way to do it!).

I found two identical frames in storage. I used tape, double-sided tape, and a single piece of construction paper. The frames came with the mat and of course we used his medal and number.

I covered the mat with the number for the first frame folding it over the corners much like how I wrap a gift. I used the clear tape to hold it in place.

For the second frame I took the bottom layer mat and taped blue construction paper to the backside. I used double-sided tape to adhere the medal to the paper.

Then I popped the mat into the frame resulting in a nicely framed memory.
