Jessica shares my love of old doors. When she found this beauty she knew she needed to incorporate it into her garden.
They chipped away all the loose paint. They didn’t want to sand in case the paint was lead based.
They primed the door and gave it two coats of Rustolium paint. Then they stapled some screening on the backside of the window for the plants to climb up.
She transformed the old door into a beautiful trellis that is the centerpiece of her garden. Shortly, it will be heavy with green beans.
Total cost was $10 for the door, $12 for paint (she wanted to find a mis-tint outdoor paint but got impatient and just bought new), and $8 for the screen. They hope to find a second door to match.
