When we finally arrived at the point of installing doors in the basement renovation, I was thrilled! The end was in sight. There was a light at the end of the tunnel.
Unfortunately, the light was about to be closed off by a door.
Our basement has typical small(er) windows. Natural light is limited. That is why I chose a french door for the laundry room. The light from the laundry room window can still shine through.
The problem is that you can see the messy laundry room! A quick visit to Michael’s Craft Store (with a 40% off coupon, of course), fixed the problem. 2 bottles of Gallery Glass Window Color (Crystal Clear) and one package of round sponge brushes. $17 BEFORE my coupon was applied! Not bad.
In this case the saying, “A little dab will do you,” is true. Just dab the paint on. It goes on white but dries clear.
Here’s one panel that had dried, and one still wet.
The result? A door that lets the light shine through without letting the mess show through.
Bonus: I used the leftovers on the bathroom window.
