The Fireplace – Again!

Yes, I know, I’ve done a few  posts about fireplaces, and yes, here is another one. But unlike the others, where I didn’t personally know the homeowner, (or if they were a professional, an artist, or a plain person like me just doing the best I can with what God has blessed me). This fireplace makeover was done by Angela, submitted via my friend Jessica. So although I don’t know Angela personally, I know Jessica. And if she says this makeover was easy – it was EASY. If she said her friend did it without professional help – I believe her.

Here is Angela’s fireplace before. Dated, but great bones.

For a simple investment of $17.00 (yup, you read that right) she transformed her brass fireplace into this:

Angela took it apart to remove the brass parts and lightly sanded the pieces. Then, she gave it several coats of rustolium high heat spray paint and put it back together. Easy easy easy.

Now she wonders if she should paint the mantle white or leave it natural. What do you think?

I think white would be the first thing you see, I would not like that. Maybe charcoal grey or just leave it and see if you get used to the change, sometimes it takes some time.

Definitely not paint it white! It’s nice the way it is, but if she really would like to paint it, I would select a paint color from one of the fireplace stones – grey/beige.
