Jessica’s husband made this fitted valance in under an hour. Follow her directions below to duplicate this style in your own home.
It was impossible to hide curtain brackets because the top of the curtain can be seen from the top of the stairs, so Jessica’s husband made a unique hanger from wood. The valance fits into the grooves and is easily removed.
Jessica glued down quilters batting to soften the edges, and then she trimmed it to an exact fit being careful not to wrap the batting around the back and alter how it fits onto the groove.
She cut and ironed the material and stapled it onto the wood.
When she made this second valance (shown below), she added some extra batting to soften the look.
