Customize A Common Picture

We were gifted this beautiful picture by Anne Geddes.

I immediately saw the potential to personalize this photograph with a favourite Scripture verse. I chose a passage from Psalm 139. A favourite chapter of mine and one of the first large chunks of Scripture that I ever memorized.

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well (vs 13, 14).”

I printed the passage in a shaded text box and carefully cut it out. I glued it overtop of the Anne Geddes’ text box (sorry Anne!)

I then took the frame and dry brushed black over top of the gold.

This is after one coat.

This is after 2 coats:

The picture is now a better match to the style of our home and no longer looks like every other Anne Geddes picture. Love it!
