Treasure Hunt

You can search the whole earth. Significance and satisfaction cannot be found here. The answer is not obtaining, mastering, or conquering the unholy places that divide loyalties and threaten souls. The answer is not more – but less.

I become less. He becomes greater.

Less of me.

Lesser still.

Until I hold loosely to those things that don’t matter—those things destined to burn—until my love abides in Him, and Him in me, and I hold nothing back. Loving unconditionally. Giving unreservedly. Forgiving entirely.

There, I find the treasure. There, I find my Lord and hear His command.

Feed the hungry. Quench their thirst. Clothe the naked. Comfort the sick.

As if I were doing it for Him.
