A beautiful desk from scraps

When my husband moved his home office downstairs, I inherited the main floor one — and this make-shift desk.

We were given the desk tops a few years back and my husband picked up the legs at Home Depot. It served him well, but it didn’t suit the pretty vision I had for my office. So I added leftover baseboard trim around the frame and chalk painted the entire desk white.

I removed the seat cushion from the desk chair and covered it with leftover fabric. I chalk painted the frame of the chair in the same white.

I chose not to distress the desk and chair. I like the crisp and clean contrast between the seat fabric and the paint. I used chalk paint for its no-prep ease.
