Pick apart centrepieces

When I was asked to make centrepieces for a thank you dinner that could be dismantled into individual take home gifts, I hit Pinterest. I combined three ideas and created this fun and colourful beauty.

I collected 18 tins in various sizes, washed and painted them different colours.

I glued a ribbon around each tin.

Then, I glued string around the base, stuck on a chalk-painted label (found ready-made at Michaels) and tied a string bow. I stuffed colourful napkins inside the can.

Next I dipped plastic spoons in chocolate, and sprinkled candy glitter over top. They took a few hours to set. I individually wrapped the spoons, tied them with a string bow, and arranged the spoons in each can.

Now each person can take home a hot chocolate spoon as a thank you. However, I did not use mine to stir hot chocolate. I licked my chocolate spoon clean. Yummy!
