Now that we have the easel out front, I need a Christmas silhouette to adorn it. I started with this wooden box my husband put together from old 2 x 4’s. I gave it one coat of white paint, letting the wood grain show though a little bit.
I found a printable Nativity silhouette online and doubled the size of each part, tracing it onto the pallet.
I used a jumbo permanent black marker and coloured in the silhouette. Then, I gave the front a single coat of Varathane to prevent the ink from running in the event it got wet.
I am very pleased with the results and the Varathane did its job. It snowed and rained today and the ink didn’t run.
Silhouette’s can be painted on almost anything. The nativity below was once a cabinet door.
